Yongin Green Dream Youth Shelter was established in 2003. This shelter has provided about 1,479 runaway youths with various social welfare services for 15 years. The youth from below 13 to 19 years old are in dangerous situations such as household poverty, abuse, neglect and delinquency, and school maladjustment deviant behavior. The shelter helps at-risk, runaway youth return to their families, as well as achieve self-reliance within society through temporary care, adolescent counseling, and educational services. This shelter won commendation as an exemplary organization from the ministry of health and welfare in 2008. The shelter endeavors to help the youth at risk by setting a stable base for self-reliance.
