Throughout the school year, the bookmobiles of Bright Star Mobile Library visit 19 primary schools every week reaching nearly 5,000 students in rural outskirts of Islamabad. During these visits, the library professionals of the BSML conduct storytelling and guided book reading sessions to inculcate and promote reading habits in children. The schools selected are government or charity schools because these have free education and therefore even lesser privileged and marginalized families can afford to send their children to these schools. Majority of the students served by BSML belong to poor households and over 60 percent of them are girls. During these sessions, soft social messages are also imparted to children to enhance their social skills.
