Yayasan IDEP is a medium-scale organization based in Bali, Indonesia, that works with communities and other stakeholders on a national scale. IDEP is an Indonesian NGO that specializes in the development of media and practical programs that educate and empower local communities in sustainable development, including disaster risk reduction. One of their main programs focuses on training and responding to emergencies across Indonesia. Their work covers 4 areas and makes up what they call the “Cycle of Resilience”: Sustainable Development, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Response, and Community Recovery. IDEP is actively working in West Sumatra, the most earthquake-prone area of the world. IDEP’s presence works towards socializing the importance of “Earthquake Safe Reconstruction” and implementing Disaster Risk Reduction Education for local primary schools.
