Khovd State University - Bayan Ulgii Branch 

Established in 1979, Khovd State University is the premier and leading university in Western Mongolia and has a wealth of experience of preparing skillful teachers and specialists. Currently, the number of teachers in the university is estimated at 260 and the number of students is more than 3,800. In 2010, the university opened the Bayan-Ulgii Branch of Khovd University. The vision of Khovd University is to become one of the leading universities in the Altai region in terms of impact, quality, the scope of research, training, and social services. The mission of Khovd University is to serve students and the community by providing an excellent education, research environment, and curriculum, through which the University can produce graduates who will lead Mongolian society by reconciling the demands and necessities of an informed society and supporting a knowledge-based economy.

At the moment, the Bayan Ulgii branch of the university is unable to provide housing for its students, many of whom must seek private, expensive rooms in the town or its surroundings. With a growing number of students, many of whom are from nomadic families living at a great distance from the university, the building of student housing has become an urgent necessity. These donations will be used for the building of a safe, energy-efficient dormitory for 95 students on the university campus, important especially during the long winter when sub-zero temperatures make travel impossible.
