Our Mission
CTC envisions healthy seas that enrich people and nature. They aim to achieve this by promoting the conservation and sustainable management of marine and coastal resources in the Coral Triangle through capacity building, field learning, and innovative outreach and public education programs.The Need
CTC work to address the most critical threats to marine and coastal resources such as degradation of critical marine habitat, unsustainable fishing, loss of endangered marine species, pollution, climate change, irresponsible tourism, and uncontrolled coastal development.The Solution
CTC work with stakeholders at all levels through training and capacity building. They lead learning networks of women leaders, local government, and marine protected area practitioners in the Coral Triangle region.Our Impact
Since 2010, CTC has protected 387,000 hectares of critical marine habitat. They trained more than 5,000 people to support marine protected areas and sustainable fisheries management in the Coral Triangle, and more than 12,000 people have come to the Center for Marine Conservation.The Coral Triangle Center (CTC) is a regional foundation based in Bali, Indonesia that trains marine resource managers and educates all groups that interact with coastlines and reefs within the Coral Triangle. CTC envisions healthy seas that enrich people and nature and is on a mission to inspire and train generations to care for coastal and marine ecosystems. CTC has trained more than 5,000 people in its twelve years of service since 2000 as part of The Nature Conservancy (TNC). More than 12,000 people have come through our Center for Marine Conservation, many of whom have been inspired to take direct action to protect our oceans. CTC has also been an independent organization since 2011 that continues to enhance local and regional capacity on the ground for marine conservation.
